Second Life golf is alive and well and has been very popular for some time now. However, the club systems have been rather limited and not updated in years.

As golfers in the real world and Second Life, we saw a need to update the game, making it as close to real golf as possible.

Truegolf VGS is a partnership between Poppy Williams and Chelsea Malibu and is brought to you by Steelhead Outfitters.

If you already golf in SL, you will note that everything in the new Truegolf VGS has been updated to utilize any new changes in Second Life and we will always strive to achieve this. Our textures are ready for the new glTF Materials system, and we are constantly on the beta grid [Aditi] testing and preparing for any new changes.

The Ball

Our balls are meticulously designed for utmost physical accuracy. They reliably land precisely where intended and respond authentically to the surfaces they come in contact with. Gone are the instances of errant shots that register as sand when they ended up on grass. We've ensured a seamless transition that maintains the true essence of playing.

Additionally, we have eradicated the days of unpredictable "ping pong" ball behavior, where illogical bounces marred the experience.

Our attention to detail extends to the texture of the balls, incorporating the latest advancements in Materials maps technology. As we move forward, we are committed to adopting the forthcoming generation of these technologies once they become available on the grid.

We have designed the natural trajectory of the ball as it drops into the cup enhancing the overall realism of your game.

The Swing

Our swing mechanics are distinctive within Second Life, yet they evoke a sense of familiarity for those accustomed to playing console games. The animation remains dormant until you release the left mouse trigger, ensuring a seamless and controlled initiation.

Our animations are captured through motion-capture technology, involving actual golf professionals whose precise cadence is pivotal in executing an accurate swing.

The Clubs

The included standard clubs in your set draw inspiration from contemporary real-world club designs. Complementing these, your bag incorporates a blend of top-tier clubs currently prominent in the market.

Moreover, our innovative Cassette system empowers you with the flexibility to seamlessly incorporate new clubs as they are introduced.
